The head of the National Chapter of the SCO Business Council from Russia, the President of CCI of Russia Sergey Katyrin took part in the events of the SCO Summit in Astana.
According to Sergei Katyrin, business will certainly benefit from the expansion of the SCO. The competitive advantages of the countries of the organization will be used more broadly as an extensive industrial base, a powerful resource potential, new technological solutions, and skilled and relatively inexpensive labor force. It is necessary to stimulate the participation of business in value-added chains, to promote outflow to foreign markets and competition outside the SCO countries.
The leaders of the SCO countries approved the membership of India and Pakistan in the organization and decided on the contributions of these countries due to a change in their status in the organization. They also approved the reports of the Secretary General of the SCO and the regional anti-terrorist structure of the organization on activities in 2016.
A convention on countering extremism, a statement on the fight against terror and the Astana Declaration were signed. A plan of joint actions to implement the program of cooperation of the SCO member countries in the field of tourism for 2017-2018 and a memorandum of understanding between the SCO secretariat and the International Committee of the Red Cross have been agreed and signed.
