Rapprochement: Russia and Vietnam held a joint forum in Moscow

The vice-president of the CCI of Russia Vladimir Padalko opened the Russia-Vietnam forum. Speaking with brief opening remarks he welcomed the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Chiang Dai Kuang, and the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Maxim Oreshkin.

Chiang Dai Kuang and Maxim Oreshkin emphasized the great potential of Russian-Vietnamese economic ties and noted the prospects for cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries.

Vladimir Padalko, vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, moderated the panel discussion "Opportunities for investment and trade cooperation between Russia and Vietnam in the context of the Free Trade Agreement of the Unified Energy System - Vietnam."

Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Alexei Gruzdev, shared his thoughts on the prospects for cooperation between Russia and Vietnam in the field of trade and investment in the context of the creation of a free trade zone between the Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam. Minister of Planning and Investments Nguyen Chi Dung, in turn, presented arguments for the profitability of investing by foreign investors, including Russian ones, in Vietnam projects.

"The advantages of the free trade agreement for the companies of the two countries and the opportunities for industrial and commercial cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation" was the theme of the speech of the Minister of Trade and Industry of Vietnam, Trần Tuấn Anh.

Anatoly Artamonov, the Governor of the Kaluga region, told about the history and prospects of cooperation between the Kaluga region and Vietnam.

Director General of IC "Center Capital", Chairman of the Board of Directors of LLC "Global Rus Trade" Anna Nesterova and the President of “Miratorg” Viktor Linnik told about their experience of investing in Vietnam and assessed the business environment in the country.

The main topics of discussion were: the areas of attracting foreign investment in Vietnam and the priority areas for attracting investment from Russia; advantages for Russian businessmen in Vietnam in terms of expanding access to the markets of ASEAN countries; the potential of the auxiliary industries for the production of components and materials in Vietnam and how to promote cooperation between our countries in this sector of industry; Vietnam's actions to fulfill its obligations under the Free Trade Agreement with the EAEU.

There was a ceremony of signing joint documents after the panel discussion.
