Diversification of mutual trade. Barriers and ways of their elimination " in the framework of the IV forum of the regions of the two countries. The event was organized by the chambers of commerce and industry of Russia and Belarus with the support of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly at the Expocentre Fairgrounds.
The discussion was opened with a welcoming speech of Sergey Katyrin who emphasized that for Russia, Belarus always remains the main strategic trading partner. The participation of our countries in the Union State, the CIS and the Eurasian Economic Union creates favorable conditions for further deepening of cooperation between the two countries' businessmen in the field of trade, investment and development of cooperation ties. In the commodity turnover of our country with the CIS countries, the Republic of Belarus has traditionally taken the first place, and among all the trading partners of the Russian Federation - the fourth.
Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce Vladimir Ulakhovich in his welcoming speech noted that the format of such meetings is necessary for businessmen of both countries. The Russian market is the main one for the export of Belarusian products; therefore it is necessary to carry out systematic work to remove existing barriers and restrictions.
First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy Alexei Mayorov addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
The general director of JSC "Expocenter" Sergei Bednov devoted his speech to the issues of cooperation between Russia and Belarus in the exhibition area.
On June 30, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko took part in the plenary session of the forum.
